On the Weekly Meeting of Council of Ministers
on June 7, 2002

In the morning of June 7th, 2002, the Council of Ministers plenary meeting was held at 8:30 am under the highest presidency of Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia, at the Council. The meeting passed:

  1. The Draft Law on Statistics
  2. Request for approval from the Council of Ministers for the Report against Torture and the Condemnation against Violent Acts, Inhuman that Cause the Lost Human Value, prepared by Cambodian Human Rights Committee to be submitted to United Nations.
  3. Other discussions: Request for approval from the Council of Ministers for International Convention on the Project of Food Resources and Agriculture.

After the discussion and share of opinions, the weekly meeting passed:

The Draft Law on Statistics

The Council of Ministers agreed and adopted The Draft Law prepared by Ministry of Planning with recommendations of advisors from Asian Development Bank; advisors of International Monetary Fund on statistics of all domains at the ministry and includes global input from other countries, especially from regional countries in order to integrate into the world and region statistics.

Preparation of the statistics also put into account the actual requirements of Cambodian statistics at present.

The importances of the statistics are:

Request for approval from the Council of Ministers for the Report against

Lost Human Value, prepared by Cambodian Human Rights Committee to be
submitted to United Nations.

The Council of Ministers agreed and approved the Request for approval from the Council of Ministers for the Report against Torture and the Condemnation against Violent Acts, Inhuman that Cause the Lost Human Value, prepared by Cambodian Human Rights Committee to be submitted to United Nations.

Request for approval from the Council of Ministers for International Convention
on the Project of Food Resources and Agriculture.

The Council also agreed and passed request for approval from the Council for International Convention on the Projects of Food Resources and Agriculture.
