The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation presents its compliments to all Diplomatic and Consular Missions, United Nations Agencies, International Organizations accredited to the Kingdom of Cambodia and has the honor to enclose herewith the Sub-Decree No 51 dated 14 August 2000 regarding the issuance and the use of the Diplomatic and Official Passports of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The Ministry has further honor to inform that the new Sub-Decree replaces the old Sub-Decree which had issued the Diplomatic Passports to many bearers and some of them were faked by the culprits.
This new Sub-Decree constitutes that the high personalities and officials of the Kingdom of Cambodia could use the Diplomatic Passport only on the mission abroad, except His Majesty the King and the Queen.
In case the Cambodian high personalities and officials wish to go abroad on the private purpose they shall use the normal passport.
There are three kinds of diplomatic bearers:
The Service Passports are issued for the Government officials, Police and Military officers as well as Monk Officials for their mission abroad.
The validity of the Service Passport has approximate duration of the bearer's mission abroad.
The previous Diplomatic and Official passports which do not meet the requirement of the Article 2-3-4-5 and Article 6 of this Sub-Decree shall have validity until 01 January, 2001 as set forth in Article 8.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation avails itself of this opportunity to renew to all Diplomatic and Consular Missions, United Nation Agencies, International Organizations the assurances of its highest consideration.
