It is difficult to provide a measurable
objective about the suspected mined area,
which will be reduced through a proper Technical
Survey (mainly the collection of more accurate
information on the limits of the mine fields).
However, from the Level Survey One report,
it is expected to reduce dramatically the
size of the mine suspected area in the 30
most mine-affected districts of Cambodia. |
|
|
| |
| |
| |
|
Through different programs (Community Base
Mine Riks Reduction, Survey, mass media
campaign, mine/UXO clearance…), the number
of mine/UXO should decrease significantly
over the next few years. The Mine/UXO victim
report will be a good indicator on the success
of the program. |

CMAC is reliable on local community and
CMAA to define socio-economic priorities
in Mine Action. It is the responsibility
of CMAA and the local authorities through
the PRC process to define the clearance
requirement. However, CMAC is committed
to participate and support the process to
ensure that the best priorities are targeted
and the most economics benefits for community
are met. |

With better management practices including
demining toolboxes are available in terms
of technologies and methodologies, the productivity
and the cost effectiveness of CMAC activities
will continue to increase. |
