The Cambodia Rural School Project
Mrs. Van Ken is a farmer living near the Tokyo West Rotary Club School. |
| On her family: | "My daughter is 16-year-old, and she stopped studying
to help me work. Two of my sons are in second grade, and the third is
too young to go to school.
|
| On the new building: | "I like the new building. I have been living here
nearly 50 years, yet I have never seen a building like this one. I think
it is a good thing for the village because the children have a great
opportunity to study here.
|
| On the future of her children: | "I want my children to study because I want them to
be smart. I have never studied, so I want them to have a chance."
|
| On her future: | “I want to study until high school to get knowledge. My parents also want me to graduate. I want to be a teacher when I grow up.”
|
| If I could go anywhere: | “I would go
to Phnom Penh because I want to continue to study and I have never left
this village.”
|
| If I could do anything: | “I would help
this village because the villagers here are poor.”
|
| Message for the donor: | “I would like to thank the Tokyo West Rotary Club for donating this school building.” |
