Mr. Om Boeun Chhor is the director of the Aeon Lime School. He has been a teacher since 1985 and a school director for six years. His wife is a farmer and they have two children.
| On the new building: | “The people in this
village have never seen new buildings like this one.
We will keep it well. All
the students like to study in it and all the parents push their kids to
study here.”
|
| On school subjects: | “Khmer class is my
favorite one to teach. I
don’t dislike any subject, but I dislike it when the students are loud
in class and when they damage the teaching equipment.”
|
| On his family: | “One of my sons lives
in Phnom Penh with his uncle. He
drives a truck for a construction company. The other is studying in secondary school.
I wanted them both to graduate from high school, but hopefully my
younger son will do so and become a teacher.”
|
| On the importance of education: | “I think it is important for students to finish high school because then they can get good jobs with their high level of knowledge. For example, if they learn English or French, then they can become drivers for foreigners.” |
