| On
the new building:
|
I like the new
building because since it was built, we have had a large
increase in the student body.
I estimate that next year there will be over 1000
students at this school. We may have to divide the school into three groups, and teach
each class three times a day to fit them all.
It is hard to compare the old and new buildings, but
before we had class in the pagoda compound.
The building was very old, and it shook in the rain and
wind. In the new building, it is easy to teach and it is better
than the old building.

| On
his family: |
I have two daughters
learning at this school. One
is in fourth grade and the other is in first grade.
I used to teach my children at home, but not recently
because I believe in their teachers.
|
| On
teaching: |
I became a teacher
when I came to live here in 1991 because there was a real lack
of teachers. I have
a lot of work to do, so the District Chief of Education kept me
from teaching last year. This
year, I think I will be teaching because we are short of
teachers.
|
| On
school subjects: |
I like teaching all
subjects because they are all very important.
However, my most favorite is Khmer because I want the
kids to know how to read, write and spell.
|
| On
improving the school:
|
The community is very
happy and they plan to keep the building in good condition.
I am also contacting villagers and persuading them to
send their children to school.
