Mr. Som Yum is the deputy director of the Trabek Nippon
Foundation School.He is also
the third grade teacher.He
has been a school director since 1984 and the deputy for three years.

building is much better than the old one because it is stronger.It is made of concrete and not wood like the old one
was.”
On school subjects:
“I
like teaching Khmer and mathematics because I think that they
are very important for the students to know.”
On teaching:
“I became a
teacher because I want the students here to get an education to
change their future.I
finished middle school, and went to teacher training school for
one year before becoming a teacher.”
