In Their Own Words. . .

On moving to Phnom Dek village, location of the Dixon Learning Center "I moved to Phnom Dek village from Rovieng one year ago. In Rovieng, my parents had no job. So, they moved here and now sell soft drinks in front of my house. Phnom Dek is better that Rovieng because the nighttime in Rovieng is quiet. Rovieng is not so happy at nighttime. Phnom Dek is happy at nighttime. The population is not so crowded in Rovieng. Phnom Dek is still new to me."

On the new school and its computer lessons "I like the new school because it is comfortable and not so crowded like the old school. I started studying computer lessons 13 days ago. I want to learn the computer because I want the knowledge of computers to get a bright future."

On the when he grows up "When I grow up, I want to be a senior official in the government. I want to earn a lot money so I can feed my parents."

On his hobbies "I like to play football (soccer). I do not like swimming, but I know how to swim. There is a dam nearby where we go swimming. I do not know how to play instruments, but I like to sing. My favorite song is called 'If you have a new one (girlfriend), what don't you tell me?" (Dara then sings the very popular song for us. It is a fast, pop song known throughout Cambodia.)
