The Cambodia Rural School Project
The Brad Washburn School

Chhuon Pirun, a fourth grade student (Feb. 2001)
| "My parents are farmers. I have three brothers and sisters. My younger brother also studies at this school." | |
| On when he grows up | "When
I grow up I want to be a teacher. I love teaching"
|
| On his new school | "I
love my new school. The new school’s color is bright, and it is more
comfortable than our old school."
|
| On his favorite subjects | "I like Khmer language because it
belongs to the Cambodian people so it is easy to study. I want to learn
English and French. When I understand English, I will go to the market
and I will see the labels on things and will understand what to buy."
|
| On traveling | “The farthest I have ever been from home is Kampong Thom town (a 6 to 8 hour car journey from his village). I went there with my parents to visit relatives. Maybe someday I would like to visit other countries.” |
