the new building |
I
am very lucky to come and teach in this new school building
donated by Fumiko Oshima. I
like the new building because the rooms are large, the building
is not noisy, and light can come through the window.

her family |
I
am 22 years old. I
have one brother and three sisters.
My older sister is 27 and can get 30 sacks of rice a year
as a farmer. My
brother is 18 and drives a motorbike-taxi.
He can earn up to US$2 per day.
My younger sisters are six and seven and are both in 1st
grade at this school.

school subjects |
I want my
kids to know about Khmer traditions and the history of Cambodia,
so I like teaching social science.
I find it difficult to teach mathematics.
|
| on
the difficulties of teaching |
The
difficult part of my job is that we are short of study
instruments.
|
| on
keeping students interested |
"I
always make gestures in class, and sometimes dance that's
why my kids like to come to class."
|
| on
the joys of teaching |
I love to
teach small kids because I love small kids.
I want my students to get good jobs in the future and I
hope that by giving young people an education, we can prevent
more fighting in the future and help our country develop.
