Lon Vannak is a third grade student at The Nicholas and Elaine Negroponte School. 
He is 13 years old. His parents are farmers. 
He has six brothers and sisters, four of whom also attend this school. 


In Their Own Words. . . 

"I love my new school because it is beautiful and new so that it makes me want to learn." 

on new school compared to the old school:  "The new building is more comfortable than the old building." 

on his favorite subject:  "I like Khmer class, because I like to read." 

on his most difficult subject:   "Mathematics is the hardest because I do not know how to do it."

on his hobbies: "I like to play football (soccer), but I do not know if I am any good." 

on what he wants to be when he grows up: "I want to be a farmer when I grow up because I want to grow rice to live."
