King Norodom Sihanouk looks at the "Cambodia Rural School" brochure and compliments the project to enlist contributors to establish such schools under the donors' name in the poor areas of Cambodia. The plan was described to him by Bernard Krisher, chairman of Japan Relief for Cambodia/American Assistance for Cambodia at an audience in the Royal Palace on May 3, 1999.

This is the SCHOOL we can build for you

Two million Cambodians died during the Khmer Rouge regime and the education system was destroyed.

Today some 3,000 villages in Cambodia have no schools. Most children either have no chance to learn how to read and write or must study in the open fields, often hampered by rain and hot sun.

Help put a roof over their heads by contributing $ 14,000 to build a three to five-room school, support teaching and supply materials for two years (to be matched by an international fund).

An additional contribution of $1,700 will fund the installation of solar panels providing energy to operate a computer with future Internet access.
