Why we are sponsoring the girl: Yann has two brothers and four sisters. She is the fifth child in the family. Her mother’s name’s Kagn, 50 years old. Her father’s name’s Kiel, 60 years old. They are farmers. The yearly harvesting rice can support the family for three or four months. Before the harvesting season they borrow money from the other villagers. They don’t have enough food for their daily meal. They always borrow money from their friends. After the rice harvesting they reimburse money to their friends. And they start to borrow money again. They repeat the borrowing cycle every year. They don’t have chance to give money back to their friends or to stop to borrow money from them.
Yann often missed school, for four or six months. After her long absence she was shy and was afraid from her friends and she stopped to come to school.
With our explanation Yann and her parents understand the interest of the EDUCATION. They start to send Yann to school regularly.
