Girl #65 - Hem Sien

Profile: Hem Sien is six years old and a first grade student at the 2006-2007 semester of The Tokyo Shintoshin Rotary Club primary school in Boss village, Reak Reay commune, Roveang district, Preah Vihear province.

Current situation: Her parents were separated for many years because of her father always got violence on her mother that is why her mother had to run a way and she has second husband now. Her mother never comes home because she afraid of her husband will act this behavior on her again. She has two brothers and three sisters. She is youngest child in the family. Five of her siblings and her are living under supported by her uncle near by her parent’s house. They all have chance to attend class as other students. Her fifth brother lives with relative in Sihaknouk ville and study in grade one. There are 13 members in the family, her aunt in-law is a nurse and her uncle is a farmer, earn $5 a day but have to expense all for food. Her father seems not care of his children, just stay home and drink alcohol most often. Her uncle’s family are in debt $250 but they still accept their nieces and nephew to protect.

Problem she faces: Her father is alcoholism and her mother run a way from them.

Suggestion: We should support her uncle
