Tith Van Thuoen is 11 years old and a second grade student
at the 2006-2007 semester of The Tokyo Shintoshin Rotary Club primary
school in Dong village, Reak Reay commune, Roveang district, Preah Vihear
province.
Current
situation: Her family is farmer, besides farming her family
doing plantation, work for someone hided, and earn 60cents a day but
expense all for food. There are four members in the family. She has
two sisters and one brother. Her oldest sister working in garment factory
in Phnom Penh three months ago but they don’t know how much salary
she would get. Her second sister is working on someone’s plantation
in the Preak Vihear town by earning $1 a day. And her third brother
stopped study grade three, he does not thing. The reason for her frequent
school absence because her house is far some four kilometers from school,
requiring more than one hour up to school. Moreover, she volunteer to
help her mother to work at farm, bring water from pound or well, etc.
She had never work for exchange the money. Her parent is indebt for
about $50 for food and medicine purchasing.
Problem
she faces: Poverty, her parent has no suitable work to do
Suggestion:
Her parents agreed with me to allow their daughter to attend school
regularly.
Support:
We pay the parent $10 a month ($120 a year).
