Girl #53 - Youn Sanith

Location of the school: The Ezra Vogel Special Skills School, village 5, Labanserk commune, Banlung district, Ratanakiri province, #220Girl student: Youn Sanith is a poor girl student in the school. She is sixteen years old. She is in the fifth grade. She irregularly went to school.
Why we are sponsoring the girl: Sanit has two brothers and three sisters. She lives with her parents who are very poor farmers. Tagn Youn is her father, 44 years old. Plag My is her mother, 34 years old. The yearly rice harvesting does not respond to the need of the family. Sometimes they do not have enough rice for eating. They must buy more rice from the market. To face on this lack of rice they must find out more works to do in the village.
Sanith cannot go to school. She must help her parents to do any works that the people hire her.
After I explain them on the project objectives they understood the problem that they have kept Sanith at home and do not send her to school. Finally Sanit is supported by the family to return to school.Support: We pay her family $10 a month for perfect attendance.
