Girl student:
Her name is Seng Srey Roth. She is eleven years old. She was
in the third grade. She stopped to go to school in mid-2005.
Why we are sponsoring the girl: Her father, Maok Pel, 40 years old,
is a farmer. Her mother, Bun Roeun, 41 years old, is a housewife. She
is always sick, on heart problem. In 2002 she was admitted as a poor
patient in Ratanakiri province, supported by the Telemedicine project
(is a part of the program of AAfC/JRfC). She got the treatment in Phnom
Penh and still gets medicine from the Sihanouk Hope Center Hospital
(SHCH).
Srey Roth has two brothers and one sister. In the family her father
is an only person who can work and get income for the family. He works
alone on the land of one hectare. He does not have any buffaloes for
helping him in the farm. The family does not have enough rice and food.
The father must go into the forest and find a kind of tree that he can
extract it resin for selling. He gets 20000Riels (=$5) per week.
In this problem that Srey Roth must at home and does all housework and
sometimes helps her father in the farm or forest.
Now her parents understood and willing to send their daughter to school.
Srey roth is very happy for returning to school.
Support: We pay her family $10 a month for perfect
attendance.
