Girl#3 - Srey Mom

Profile: Sok Srey Mom is 14 years old and a 5th grade student at the 2005-2006 semester of the Kirivorn primary school in Kirivorn village, Kompong Sela commune, Sre Ambel district, Kok Kong province.
Current situation: Her family’s hometown is in Kandal province. They moved to live here 12 years ago. Her father just died six months ago. She has two brothers and one sister. She is the youngest child in the family. Her oldest brother is a farmer and her older sister lives with her aunt in Phnom Penh without getting any pay. Her older brother is motor taxi driver. He is married and lives separately in Pursat province. Her family is living on someone’s land and earns $25 per month. They have to clean grass around, water the trees and do housekeeping. Her mother added that, the owner’s land would stop paying money soon, but still provide a house for staying. Beside working around, she and her mother have extra income by selling corn, banana fries, etc. sometimes, working for someone when hired by getting 50 to 70cents a day.
Problem she faces: The family is very poor. Her mother has a physical illness.
Suggestion: She needs support from us because the family has no stable work to do.
Support: we pay the mother $10 a month ($120 a year).
