Girl # 28- Nheum

Location of the school: The Gloria and Henry Jarecki Special Skills School, Norng Leak village, O’Chum commune, O’Chum district, Ratanakiri province.
Girl Student: Hem Nheum is twelve years old. She is in the second grade in the primary school. She is the first child in the family.
Why we are sponsoring the girl: Nheum has two sisters who stay home (7 years and 3 years). Her parents have two hectares for farming. The rice harvesting is not enough for the needs of the family. Besides of farming they have animal raising. The animal often died because of the disease.
Nheum has to do housework and work in the fieldwork with her parents. She did not have time to go to school. She left school for five-six months ago.
After the meeting the parents agreed to send Nheum back to school. Nheum is happy for this opportunity.
Support: we pay the parents $10 a month for perfect attendance.
