Girl #25 - Khom Horm

Profile: Khom Horm is 18 years old and a six-grade student at the 2006-2007 semester of the Tokyo-West Rotary Club primary school in Trapang khlong village, Dombork Rong commune, Phnom Srouch district, Kompong Speu province.

Current situation: Her parents are farmers, besides of farming her father cutting wood and looking for fishes, her mother is picking chili paper to sell, earning $2.50 a day. They have a small land for growing rice/sweet potatos. She has four brothers and two sisters. She is the fourth kid in the family. There are eight members in the family. Her older sister is working in a garment factory in Phnom Penh, earning $25 a month. The reason for her frequently school absence is due to helping her parent to work for someone needed by earning $1 a day, and expense $1.50 for food. World Vision Cambodia has provided fresh water to her family since six months ago. They have to work hard to support the whole family.

Problem she faces: Poverty and low-income in the family.
