Profile: Sdoeung Sopheap is 15 years old and a six-grade student at the 2006-2007 semester of the Tokyo-West Rotary Club primary school in Meanchey village, Dombork Roung commune, Phnom Srouch district, Kompong Speu province.
Current situation: Her father passed away many years, now her mother has a second husband but he deserted her since second pregnancy. She is absent from school sometimes to helping her mother to cultivate/harvest rice in everywhere that people want to hire her. She earned $1.50 a day. Beside of this work, she also has to take care of her younger sister and looking for food at the rice field (crabs, fishes, snails etc.). Her mother is not healthy person, she just give a birth and has no any vitamins food to eat. They are living in the worth condition (look at their house), they do not have own land. They are in debt for about $50. But, however, her neighbors say, Sopheap always get high score in the class and willing to attend school everyday.
Problem she faces: Poverty. No one support this family. They don’t have property.
Suggestion: We shall be support her
Support: we pay her mother $10 a month ($120 a year).
