Profile: Eoung Sophan is 12 years old and a fifth grade student at the 2006-2007 semester of the Tokyo-West Rotary Club primary school in Meanchey village, Dombork Roung commune, Phnom Srouch district, Kompong Speu province.

Current situation: Her parents are farmers, besides farming her parents doing plantation. They have one hectare of land for growing rice/vegetable. There are six members in the family. She has one sister and two brothers. She is youngest child in the family. The reason for her frequent school absence is due to helping her parent to work at rice field, finding fish and wood to survive. Moreover, she working anywhere that people want to hire her and earned $1.50 a day. Her father is disable people (his leg had broken since Khmer rough regime) he mostly stay home and sometimes helping family to transport kind of small woods to sell, and get extra income $20-25 a month but it’s rarely. Her parents are in debt to buy a pair of cow for about $900; that is why they have to work hard for this. However, Sophan is study hard student and usually get high score in the class.

Problem she faces: Her family is poor. Her father is disable person
