Girl # 14- Krem

Location of the school: The Gloria and Henry Jarecki Special skills School, Norng Leak village, O’Chum commune, O’Chum district, Ratanakiri province.
Girl student: San Krem is thirteen years old and a second grade student. She is third child in the family.
Why we are sponsoring the girl: The parents of Krem are farmers. They don’t have good health, they are often sick. They grow cashew nuts in the land of two hectares. They borrow rice from the other families every year. When they harvest the cashew nuts they give money back to these families. They do like this every year. Sometimes they don’t have rice for eating.
Krem is always absent for working as worker hired by the other people in the village. This income comes to help the family. She wants to go to school but the poverty of the family pushes her in a bad situation.
After the meeting her parents promise that they will send Krem to school and they will make a planning for getting more income.
Support: We pay the parents $10 a month for perfect attendance.
