Girl # 13- Kasong

Location of the school: The Gloria and Henry Jarecki Special Skills School, Norng Leak village, O’Chum commune, O’Chum district, Ratanakiri province.
Girl student: Yuy Kasong is fourteen years old. She is in the third grade. She is the fifth child in the family. Only two sisters live with her.
Why we sponsoring the girl: Her father was died. Her mother is farmer. She works on the land of two hectares. There are rice and different kinds of vegetables. The rice harvesting is not enough for eating. The mother collects the forest products for selling in the market. She earns 5000Riels a day ($1.20).
So Kasong is often absent from the school because she always go to the farm with her mother.
After the meeting the mother agreed to send Kasong back to school and she is working in the farm with her daugthers.
Support: We apy the mother $10 a month for perfect attendance.
